Our Story
Ayenantú — 'smiling sun' in Mapudungun — was born in Quellón, at the southern tip of Chiloé, from the hands of María Ruth.
It all started with a wooden loom inherited from her grandmother and a desire to keep alive the textile tradition of the archipelago. Over the years, María Ruth perfected the art of loom weaving, hand embroidery and artisan felting.
Today, every Ayenantú garment is made entirely by hand: spun, woven, dyed with native island plants and embroidered with Chilote motifs. No two pieces are the same.
When you buy Ayenantú, you support a local artisan and carry with you an authentic piece of Chiloé culture.
